About me
My name is Cathleen Paquet

I spent 13 years working as a hairstylist, from apprentice to salon owner and educator, before making the shift to therapeutic massage. I loved working in personal care but often felt at odds with the beauty industry, with my favorite part of my job being able to create space to help people relax and feel cared for. Combined with utilizing and valuing massage and yoga to deal with my own aches and pains—both physical and mental—and the repetitive motion injuries of my job, moving toward massage felt like a natural evolution of my interests and experience.
As well, I have a background in mental health, music, fine art, social justice activism, and am the proud partner of a public school teacher. I consistently come back to the idea of interconnectedness—of each part of our bodies in a dance with the rest to create our whole selves, of each of us with each other and our surroundings. I strive to be a person who honors the connectivity in and around us, and I strive to meet whole people with grace and comfort, wherever they are. After working with beauty products for so many years, I’ve spent the past few years deep in a desire to better understand the difference between product consumption and care, and offer services to reflect that. My massage and foster parent training and my mental health background have also led to a strong interest in trauma-informed work, and the ways in which our mind-body connection impacts our well-being. And my social justice background heavily informs decisions I make on how to do business. My wish is for my bodywork practice to serve as space for both myself and my clients to move through the world with integrity and ease.
In my free time, I can be found volunteering for Girls Rock Bloomington and Hoosier Action, walking in the woods, hugging my adopted animals, listening to punk rock, and trying to read all of the books.
